Jim Welch

Jim Welch is the Head of Solutions Engineering at Nextbillion.ai, where he leads a talented team in delivering scalable mapping and location solutions that drive sales results. With a career spanning over three decades, Jim has an extensive background in multi-objective vehicle route optimization, new mobility services (MaaS), autonomous mobility on demand, location-based services (LBS), and cloud-native architectures. At Nextbillion.ai, he focuses on leveraging his expertise to innovate and enhance the company’s geospatial solutions for enterprises worldwide.

Jim’s professional journey includes significant roles at several industry-leading companies. Before joining Nextbillion.ai in 2021, he served as the New Mobility Lead Solutions Architect at DENSO, where he was instrumental in advancing mobility solutions. From 2016 to 2019, he was the Senior Director of Solutions Engineering at Ridecell, leading the development of cutting-edge mobility services. Prior to that, Jim held the position of Senior Director of Professional Services at deCarta, which was later acquired by Uber, where he played a pivotal role in their professional services division. His career began at MobileSoft, a company he co-founded and led as CTO, until its acquisition by Zenitel in 2007.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jim is passionate about mentoring and developing engineering teams, ensuring they are equipped to tackle complex challenges and deliver exceptional results.
