5 mins Read

April 4, 2025

As promised in our last quarterly update, we dedicated Q1 of 2025 to delivering some of the most impactful enhancements to our platform yet. With a strong focus on performance, usability, and customer feedback, this quarter was all about turning ideas into improvements you can feel.

From launching our all-new Routing and Dispatch app to upgrading our existing Route Optimization API, this quarter’s product enhancements delivered comprehensive improvements across scalability, performance, and overall excellence. Every update was thoughtfully designed to push the platform forward and better support your evolving needs.

Below is a detailed overview of these updates and how each one contributes to delivering the value we promised.

Routing and Dispatch App

Routing and Dispatch App
Our newly launched Routing and Dispatch App enables businesses to automatically generate optimized multi-stop routes with custom constraints and dispatch them directly to fleet systems and driver apps. Designed to handle complex routing scenarios in seconds, the app helps reduce fuel consumption, vehicle usage, and driving hours—ultimately lowering the cost per delivery or job.

Designed for operations teams, fleet managers, and dispatchers, this solution seamlessly integrates with leading fleet management and telematics platforms such as Samsara, Geotab, and Motive. With built-in flexibility, it ensures that every dispatched route aligns with both compliance requirements and customer expectations, making it a powerful addition to any logistics or field operations workflow.

Faster Route Optimization API

Faster Route Optimization API

As an advanced upgrade to our existing Route Optimization API, the new faster Route Optimization API is engineered to generate routes significantly faster while minimizing operational inefficiencies and simplifying the route planning process. With this enhanced version, users benefit from reduced response times and improved on-time deliveries—making it ideal for businesses that value both precision and performance.

The advanced version promises to  deliver ultra-fast route generation without compromising on accuracy—so you can plan smarter, move faster, and serve better. Reach out to get a personalized demo – Book a demo

New APIs Launched

While we continue to enhance our existing APIs, we’re excited to announce the launch of two brand-new additions to our API suite: the Road Segments API and the Driver Assignment API. These new APIs are designed to further strengthen your operational workflows by offering greater precision in route planning and smarter, more dynamic driver assignments.

Road Segments API

Road Segment API

This new addition to our API library lets you access detailed insights about road segments within any defined geographic area. Whether you specify a radius or a bounding box, the Road Segments API delivers rich data—including road geometry, midpoints, speed limits, and travel direction—enabling smarter, more precise route planning and enhanced map intelligence.

Driver Assignment API

Driver Assignment API

The Driver Assignment API enables smart, real-time matching of drivers to tasks based on attributes, distance, or time. With customizable cost models and filtering options, it helps improve efficiency, reduce response times, and optimize driver allocation.

Product Enhancements

As part of our ongoing product enhancements, we’re pleased to introduce key updates to our existing APIs—designed to boost performance, improve accuracy, and deliver even more value to your operations.

Route Optimization API

  • Generalized Relations: To accommodate all relevant constraints in route planning, we’ve updated the Relations feature to consider factors such as  time windows, rather than overriding them. Now, if tasks set in a specific sequence have conflicting time windows, they’ll be unassigned—leading to more accurate, efficient, and realistic route plans.
  • Sequence Order: The new sequence_order feature lets you define the exact order of tasks within a route. Tasks with a set order are scheduled accordingly, while those without remain flexible—offering greater control with minimal constraints.
  • LIFO Order Stacking: We’ve added support for LIFO (Last-In, First-Out) order stacking, ideal for delivering bulky items like cars or heavy equipment. This ensures that items scheduled for first delivery are loaded last, enabling smoother unloading.
  • Max Visits Lateness for Tasks: The new Max Visit Lateness parameter allows you to set custom allowable delays for individual tasks, even after their time windows expire. While a global lateness setting already exists, this update offers flexibility for tasks that are less time-sensitive—helping you plan more realistically without compromising on critical deliveries.
  • Max Solving Time: With the new Processing Time Limit setting, you can now define how long the optimizer should take to generate a solution. This is especially useful during peak hours or when working with strict cut-off times—ensuring that you get the best possible route plan within your specified deadline.

Dispatch APIs

We’ve added powerful enhancements to make Dispatch APIs more flexible. You can now modify, delete, or add steps in bulk to a dispatched route and re-dispatch it easily. With Dispatch by Route ID, optimized routes can be sent directly to drivers. Plus, step-level document templates allow for task-specific forms, overriding the route-level default when needed.

To automate task completion, geofences now detect when a driver reaches a location and mark the task as complete. The radius is customizable, and manual marking is still available. These updates bring more control, automation, and adaptability to your dispatch operations.

Routing APIs

We’ve added support for excluding tunnel routes in our Directions APIs and Navigation APIs. By using “avoid=tunnel”  the APIs will return only routes that bypass tunnels.

Additionally, the Directions Flexible API now includes a toll_distance feature, allowing users to calculate the total distance traveled on toll roads by specifying road_info: toll in the request.

These updates offer greater control over route preferences and cost-aware planning.

Live Tracking APIs

The Nearby Asset Search now supports sorting results by ETA or distance, helping users quickly identify the most relevant assets. We’ve also added last tracked time to asset details, providing better visibility into asset activity and status.

Places APIs

Our Place Search APIs now include detailed opening and closing hours for each weekday in the search results. This enhancement gives users clearer visibility into business hours, helping them plan visits, deliveries, or service calls more effectively.

Q1 Wrap-Up, Q2 Ready: The Journey Continues

As we wrap up our Q1 product enhancements and launches, we’re just as excited about what’s on the horizon for Q2 2025.
While you explore and benefit from these latest updates, we’re already hard at work to bring you even more powerful and meaningful improvements in the coming quarters. We’re signing off with our continued commitment to make the platform smarter, faster, and more impactful—for you. Stay tuned!
